Job Summary: University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Radiology and
Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO) are seeking a fellowship trained, Pediatric Interventional Radiologist (IR) to join our growing practice! The division of Pediatric Radiology consists of 33 board certified pediatric radiologists and 4 Advanced Practice Providers (APP). Currently, a subset of 4 pediatric interventionalists and 4 APPS are on track to perform over 4000 procedures per year. Pediatric IRs will focus their work at one central campus in Aurora, CO, approximately 15 minutes outside of Denver. If desired, cross coverage with adult IR may be possible.
The Department of Radiology offers two career pathways:
Clinical Practice Track:
Exclusive focus on clinical work with no research expectations.
Academic/Tenure Eligible Track:
Focus on clinical, teaching, and research missions.
The department has an excellent track record of obtaining J1 waivers, and candidates are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic pediatric interventional procedures daily at CHCO. Neuro-interventional procedures and stroke are covered by a separate team that can provide opportunities for collaboration.
Providing pediatric diagnostic radiology coverage is helpful but not required.
Call responsibilities are currently every fourth night and weekend but will become every fifth with a new hire.
Fellow, resident, and medical student education in both an outpatient and inpatient setting are critical components of the position.
Work Location: Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO

We recently completed a multimillion-dollar expansion of the Pediatric IR
Department with state-of-the-art Siemens technology including two dedicated IR
suites (biplane and single plane), a fluoroscopy room for non-sterile procedures and separate scanner for CT fluoro procedures. We have a
comprehensive multidisciplinary Vascular Anomalies Center that has over 1400
clinic visits per year and serves at least 8 regional states. We consistently
work with an active Hepatobiliary/Transplant program, thriving
Hemophilia/Thrombosis Center and serve as the pediatric affiliate for the University of Colorado Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) Center of Excellence. There is a large collaborative Oncology Service with weekly tumor boards and a growing Pediatric Interventional Oncology Service. We have numerous opportunities for research, publication and national/international speaking.

| Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications for all ranks:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. Rank at the time of appointment will be based on the candidate’s demonstrated contributions and experience in teaching, clinical, research, and/or service to the field. Assistant Professor- Professor Required Qualifications: Licensed MD or DO from accredited institution in the U.S., or equivalent, if a non-U.S. graduate Colorado Medical License by time of hire ABR Certification or eligible Completion of Vascular and Interventional Radiology training
Preferred Qualifications:
Pediatric Radiology and/or Pediatric Interventional Radiology Fellowship Training Proven interest in clinical research and/or bench research
